At the AHH Foundation LBG, we are dedicated to creating a sustainable future through a diverse range of impactful activities that address environmental conservation, community empowerment, and climate resilience. Our work is deeply rooted in collaboration, education, and the active participation of local communities, ensuring that our initiatives drive meaningful change.
Biodiversity Conservation
We prioritize the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems, focusing on preserving plant and animal species. By promoting sustainable land-use practices, we ensure the coexistence of human livelihoods and thriving biodiversity.
Reforestation and Afforestation
One of our core efforts is the reforestation and restoration of degraded forest areas. To date, we have successfully rehabilitated approximately 3,000 hectares of forest land, supporting the fight against deforestation, enhancing carbon sequestration, and fostering ecosystem resilience.
Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
As part of our commitment to addressing climate change, we implement programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote sustainable energy practices, and help communities adapt to the changing climate. Our initiatives align with global frameworks such as REDD+ to combat forest degradation and deforestation.
Sustainable Agricultural Practices
Through agroforestry systems, we empower farmers to integrate tree planting with crop cultivation. This approach not only enhances food security but also contributes to environmental sustainability by improving soil health and reducing land degradation. Farmers grow crops such as cocoa, plantains, and yams alongside trees like mango, teak, and palm, ensuring a balanced ecosystem.
Wildlife Protection
We actively work to protect endangered species and their habitats through conservation efforts and awareness campaigns. By involving local communities in wildlife protection, we foster a culture of respect and care for nature.
Community Engagement and Education
Community participation is at the heart of everything we do. Through biweekly meetings, workshops, and hands-on training sessions, we educate local farmers and residents on sustainable practices, climate change adaptation, and biodiversity protection. These initiatives help build capacity and inspire collective action.
Partnerships
We work closely with various stakeholders, including the Ghana Forestry Commission (GFC), Ghana Wildlife Society (GWS), local and international donors, volunteers, and project communities. These partnerships enable us to scale our impact and create a unified approach to environmental and social challenges.
At the AHH Foundation, our activities are driven by a shared vision of fostering sustainable ecosystems, combating climate change, and improving livelihoods. Together with our partners and communities, we are building a brighter, greener future for generations to come.
